Sport Tech Hub Incubator Application Open – Aims To Make London The Hub For SportTech Innovation

A new incubator dedicated to making London the hot spot for sport and innovation has opened its first application process exclusively to SportTech startups – Sport Tech Hub.

Sport Tech Hub incubator programme, opening in October, is ‘London’s first facility’ aimed at startups driving innovation in physical activity and sport.

Backed by London Sport, the 24-week initiative is offering to support 10 startups focused on using technology to increase levels of participation in sport. This will be done via a team of experts including London & Partners, Crowdcube, Hub Spot and RLC Ventures.

The Sport Tech Hub incubator will be based at House of Sport, near London Bridge, which is a new collaborative co-working space for the sport sector.

Selected startups and innovators will receive mentoring support and the opportunity to work alongside major UK sporting bodies, which includes London Sport, Invictus Games Foundation, Street League and Rugby Football League.

Alex Zurita, Specialist Advisor in Technology for Participation, London Sport, said: “SportTech is one of the most exciting frontiers for physical activity and sport, and we are excited to be able to offer tech start-ups in this space the opportunity to thrive at the heart of London’s sport sector.

“As so many other sectors have demonstrated, technology-led innovation offers a real opportunity to build stronger relationships with people and influence their behaviours. If that potential can be harnessed to drive people towards being more physically active, the positive impact on people’s physical and mental wellbeing could be transformative for London.”
