Join in the global celebration of female achievements with International Women’s day on March 8th – Pledge for Parity.

International Women’s Day, which was first observed in the United States in 1909, celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women all around the world.

It is a day to reflect on how ordinary women have made history through their actions in making changes supporting women’s rights in their countries and communities.

This year’s campaign theme is accelerating gender parity.

Organisations and individuals are encouraged to create and promote activities to reflect what progress has been made, to call for change and to celebrate those influencing these changes.
