Applications Open For MSDUK Innovation Challenge Competition: Hunting For The Top UK Ethnic Minority-led Businesses

Are you a BAME entrepreneur running a B2B venture? Are you looking to see your product or service to corporate organisations?

Then apply for the MSDUK Innovation Challenge 2018 – The UK-wide pitching competition helping ethnic minority founders to bring their innovative idea or product to market.

The MSDUK Innovation Challenge, organised by MSDUK – a charity promoting the inclusion of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) businesses into corporate supply chains – aims to support minority-led businesses and make entrepreneurship accessible to all.

This years’ competition, run in partnership with Cummins, alongside Accenture, EY and Bristol Myers Squibb, is looking to give 10 finalists the opportunity to pitch their venture to industry leaders for launch into the corporate market.

Applicants are invited to apply within these categories:

  • Disruptive Businesses– New Business Models & SolutionsEmerging Tech: AI, IoT, 3D Printing, Blockchain, Robotics and more;
  • Tech for Good– Healthcare, Education, Future Workforce, Financial Services, Security, Citizen Identity and more;
  • Sustainable Futures– Smart Cities, Built Environment, Energy, Renewables, Transport;
  • Innovation Wildcard– Creative Industries, Leisure, Entertainment, Unique Concepts (an innovative idea does not need to fit a box or category).

Submissions will be judged on several factors, including how well a solution meets the needs of the problem, proof of concept, and the go-to-market plan.

The competition prizes include a $10k (£7000) worth Ivy League scholarship to Tuck School of Business in America, a mentorship program with Accenture senior executives, a tailored introduction to corporate buyers, funding opportunities plus many more.

Last year winner of MSDUK Innovation Challenge is Snaptivity, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to capture candid reactions of fans at live events.
