Tech Startups – £100,000 Prize Award For The Top Innovative Ideas That Can Help The Elderly Live A More Active Life
Active Ageing Challenge – Centrica Innovations is offering a £100,000 prize award to tech startups with innovative ideas that can help the ageing population live a more active lifestyle.
The UK-wide competition aims to support the development of technology solutions that can help people thrive as they get older.
According to the Office of National Statistics, a recent survey shows that the UK population is growing with 18% aged 65 and over.
Entrepreneurs and the rest of the tech community are invited to pitch for a shared £100,000 prize fund to create new services and products and solve one of society’s biggest challenges.
Alongside the prize award, winners will also have access to building a long term partnership with Centrica as well as mentoring and networking opportunities.
Sam Salisbury, director at Centrica Innovations, said: “Age is not a barrier to adopting technology. More needs to be done to engage the over 60s and to develop technology solutions that meet their living needs and ambitions.
“Our challenge is about more than just offering money. We are looking for enterprises we can partner with to serve our customers.”
