The Foodie Netflix Shortlisted for Start-up of the Year

Simply Good Food TV ‘must-have’ app has been shortlisted for Guardian start-up of the year.

Launched in May 2015,  the foodie TV app has over 47,000 downloads and it’s been used three times a week on average.

Set to hit over 100,000 users this year alone.

The app is the brainchild of TV chef Peter Sidwell, judge from ITV’s Britain’s Best Bakery and author of several cooking books. He created it to offer an easily accessible home-foodie content.

He said: “To be shortlisted after just 11 months is a wonderful achievement. The app is going from strength to strength with over 47,000 downloads so far, we are working with a range of chefs to create delicious new foodie content.

The app is reflecting the change in consumer habits and with the aim of becoming the food lovers Netflix.”

Simply Good Food TV works with brands such as Symphony Kitchens, Filippo Berio, Soda Stream, Renault, and also with many of the Great British Bake Off and Master Chef contestants – They aim to be the Netflix of the food world.

Finalists will attend the Guardian Small Business Showcase awards ceremony, this summer, where winners will be announced.

The app is available for free to download on all Apple and Android devices.
