WeAreTheCity release list of shortlisted candidates for its 2016 Rising Star Awards

WeAreTheCity has announced its shortlisted nominees for the annual Rising Star Awards – Now open to public vote. 

Rising Star awards celebrates the female talent pipeline from a wide range of industries.

The list, released yesterday, is made up of 200 nominees and drawn from over 160 companies across the country.

Shortlisted winners include a Private Banker at J.P. Morgan, a visually impaired entrepreneur who qualified for the GB Women’s Goalball team at the 2012 Olympics and a Marine Engineering Office in the Royal Navy.

The awards is open to public voting but does not determine any winners – Its results are only counted into the final scores.

WeAreTheCity was founded in April 2008 with the aim of providing a free platform to support women who want to progress their careers, enhance their skills and build their external networks.

Founder, Vanessa Vallely said “Our shortlist is bigger than ever this year with over 200 nominees and we’re so impressed with the calibre of entries.

“Not only are we celebrating amazing female talent, but this year we’re also celebrating the women and men who are driving equality and women’s’ opportunities across industry.”

The final judging of the event takes place throughout May and the chosen top 100 rising stars will be announced on the 6th June.
