Innovate UK are offering £30,000 to 6 businesses each to develop digital ideas to help people to share their assets and skills.

The funding competition is looking to encourage innovation in the sharing economy, which uses online technology to help people share assets, resources, time and skills.

The themes for the competition are: – Trust | Tourism and Travel | Opening up New Sectors | Home Improvements | Construction | Data and Analytics.

Innovate UK are inviting businesses to submit proposals for innovative ideas appealing to a wide commercial market within these categories.

The competition opens on 7th March and winners will each receive £30,000 funding plus the chance to work with commercial partners such as Airbnb, Nesta and Crossrail.

Businesses can enter into more than one category but only one proposal can be funded for each company.

Innovate UK will be running a briefing event on 16th March in London to allow applicants to get more information about the challenge directly from the competition partners.
