Generation equality: picture it! wants you to turn your idea – of a gender equal generation – into a comic, in the push for more female and youth leaders.
Launched by Cartooning for Peace, an organisation using humour to bring people together, together with United Nations Women, the global challenge is part of the campaign for ‘women’s rights for an equal future’.
The comic competition will see applicants, age 18 to 28, submit their word-free drawings addressing these 12 areas – Women and the Environment | Women in Power and Decision-Making | The Girl Child | Women and the Economy | Women and Poverty | Violence against Women | Human Rights of Women | Education and Training of Women | Institutional Mechanisms for the Advancement of Women | Women and Health | Women and the Media | Women and Armed Conflict.
Each submission will be judged by renowned comic artists and high-ranking government officials.
Winners will each receive between €500 – €1,200 cash prize, virtual access to the Generation Equality Forum in Paris, opportunity to be named alongside other inspiring changemakers, and also have your comic piece exhibited at the Paris conference and across their social media channels.
Check here for more information about submitting and application deadline is midnight 14 March 2021.
